Hey folks, Harry here... This may not be news regarding whatever narrative filmwork Cameron is up to, AND HE IS UP TO SOMETHING... But at least it is something. Personally 3D IMAX footage from the TITANIC would get me into a theater no matter what, Buuuuuut.... I'm dying to see what all of Cameron's fascination and acquisition of ANIME material will come to. We'll have to wait and see... longer than we want, but I'm hearing that the pupa stage may be ending...
Mon Capitan Knowles,
I was lucky enough to stumble out of this sake slupping room at the AFM to mosey into a look at the new thing that James Cameron has been working. It's his new 3D TITANIC project using IMAX stuff. It was very much a work in progress, ie.. nowhere near being ready for public consumption. What I saw focused mainly on Bill Paxon's trip down to the very real TITANIC wreck. That 3D IMAX footage is just hypnotic, but let me clarify. The amazing stuff is the actual footage of the wreck. I was a little disappointed in the Bill Paxton wide-eyed out the portholes stuff, but the one bit of drop your load cool non-wreck stuff was the shots of the vessel getting the deep diving sub back into the ship during stormy weather. Breath-taking. What was shone wasn't long or formed together yet, but it had the potential to be a great documentary if Cameron lays off Hollywoodizing it.
I wish it was news about some non-documentary Cameron stuff, but nobody at the screening that I bumped into seemed to know diddly-squat about what Cameron is up to.
Bon Voyage,
The Earwig
