Hey folks, Harry here.. Clint followed up on my request for info on Alex Proyas' long discussed remake of the Hammer classic, QUATERMASS AND THE PIT. What he found out is ultimately unsatisfying for all those that wanted to see this project come from Proyas. Of course the good news from this is that Proyas is bringing us projects that we haven't seen on the screen before which is even better. I, ROBOT based on the Asimov's original is wonderful news. I saw on your site that you wanted to know what is going on with Alex Proyas's planned adaptation of "Quartermass and The Pit" so I got back in touch with Alex to discuss it and find out what's happening with that particular film. Unfortunately there were "rights" issues with the property and the project had to be shelved. Alex and David Goyer (BLADE, DARK CITY) had developed a fantastic script that unfortunately will never see the light of day. It's sobering to note that even in this day and age the legal boffins can still be fooled. "Let this be a lesson to us all.", I was told.
