Dwayne in PREDATOR 3' Updated!

Been making a few inquiries around about the info below as a standard follow-up. Nobody at Fox that I've talked to knows anything about a PREDATOR 3 or the ROCK being in it. However, ALIEN VS PREDATOR has continued to be being shopped around to directors. Everyone from David Twohy to Guillermo Del Toro to Ridley Scott has allegedly been approached in regards to directing ALIEN VS PREDATOR. I know of no interest by those directors for the project. But the studio is actively seeking out talent to develop, direct and create the ALIEN VS PREDATOR film. Until they nail their director, any projected budget is ludicrous, so the quarter of a billion dollar price tag is most likely the creation of a stoner that was sitting at home watching PREDATOR on TNT letterboxed the other night and had a brilliant thought. This is Harry out with the latest...

Hey folks, Harry here... This would be a rumor, as in non-validated, unconfirmed, dye-in-the-wool unknown. Personally I would say if the following is true, it is contingent upon the success of THE SCORPION KING, which does not seem to be all that likely. Thus far the trailers for that film have been fairly terrible. The fact that they've hired a new director to apparently shoot 30 minutes of filler material to 'beef up' the movie does not inspire grand hopes. Apparently when all was said and done the movie is currently 70 minutes and light as a kernal of styrofoam. Now I would like for this movie to be good. I have friends that absolutely love THE ROCK, but personally I've never understood the adulation for the man, I missed his vaunted SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE appearance, but I would question how a performance on a skit show would bolster your ability to carry a hugely expensive dramatic action film upon your shoulders? Whatever... If the below is true, this could be the second film in which The Rock would be playing Arnie's son... In KING CONAN - CROWN OF IRON he would be cast to play KON son of Conan. Is it possible that Arnie has an unrelated cinematic son? An interesting concept, perhaps Clive Owens can play Sean Connery's son in a sequel to DARBY O'GILL AND THE LITTLE PEOPLE. That would be very cool. Place about as much faith in the following as you would in an MGM remake or a Michael Eisner business decision. Here ya go...

Hey Harry! Long time reader to your site and a Big fan. This is my first time sending in a scoop. It comes from a source at Twentieth Century Fox who knows info about 'Predator 3'. I only telling you what I have been told!!! I freely admit this could be bogus!!! I hope it's not, because it sounds pretty damn cool! He told me that there are currently no plans for an 'Aliens vs. Predator' movie as executives are worried about it's "box office legs". It also seems it would be too expensive, probably around the $250,000,000 to do it right. While this news does indeed suck (considering new rumors of it's "fast track" status started again a few weeks ago), all is not lost. There is some truth to the news that CountingDown.com broke last week regarding 'Predator 3'. The plot does revolve around a trip to the Predator's homeworld, but it ain't an army of marines! It's one man, WWF's The Rock! Apparently producers want The Rock to play (get this) the son of Dutch Schaefer and Anna from the first movie. The story takes place somewhere between 2017 - 2020 and The Rock's character has followed in his father's footsteps to become a U.S. Soldier. From what I've been told, the Predator in this film is the son of the Predator from the first movie and has come to Earth following his "right of passage" to get revenge on Dutch. Well, Dutch is now dead and the Predator focuses on the next best thing, his son. About 2/3's of the movie takes place on Earth, whether the setting is the desert, a major city, or even a return to the jungle, I do not know. The last 1/3 of the film takes place on the Predator's homeworld where The Rock is made aware of the Predator's intentions and why he's being hunted and released into the wild in very unfamiliar territiory. Again, I'm only telling what I've been told by my source at Fox!!!
