Hey folks, Harry here... with Michael Clarke Duncan being cast as KINGPIN... the casting has gotten a bit weird on DAREDEVIL... I can understand using Michael in terms of his physical mass and his ability as an actor which is superior. He is incredibly talented. However, I'm worried that personally if anyone calls him THE KINGPIN, I'll just shake my head... because of years and years and years of programming by the comic book that tells me that Fisk is white. However, since other than in the drawings, I never had a strong ethnic feeling about Fisk... Given that the timeline for the story has been moved from the Sixties, from which Daredevil was birthed... I can accept that change, as I do know that I will enjoy with great pleasure as Michael Clarke Duncan brings down that diamond headed cane upon Ben Affleck's head.... As Duncan slams Affleck's whole body into some column in his office and beats him to near death... BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT THE KINGPIN ALWAYS DOES TO DAREDEVIL!!!! However, for me... a character that must be cast perfectly is Foggy Nelson... Matt Murdock's best buddy and partner in his lawyer life.
There are a few people that I know are reading for the part... Howard Stern's Artie Lang admitted on Stern yesterday that he was reading for the part... and surely Artie is well loved currently and brings 17 million listeners.
I know that Sean Astin has read for the part, or so I've heard, and Sean is physically perfect for the role. He's very very very much perfect in terms of performance and acting ability for the role. He brings with him the baggage of RUDY, Mikey from THE GOONIES and Samwise Gamgee from LORD OF THE RINGS... All of which means that in the eyes of the public he is.. 'a best friend' Someone that will stick with you through thick and thin. He would be excellent.
While I haven't heard if he's read or not, I'm hoping like hell that Oliver Platt has read or is being considered because he too is excellent for the part.
Lastly there is Saturday Night Live's Horatio Sanz, who is unconfirmed as having read for the part... frankly I'm not too big on him. The report on him is below...
Mark definitely has his work cut out for him in terms of casting for this part... If I had to choose it'd come down to Sean Astin and Oliver Platt.. and at that point, it would be... Whoever had the best charisma with Ben Affleck's Matt... That'll be the key to the role. What do you think?

Like so many before...big fan of the site...first time poster.
A pal with his ears to the "train tracks" says that SNL's Horatio Sanz is up for the part of Foggy Nelson in Daredevil.
He said that the part in the script is definatly "comic relief."
I liked Sanz in his bits with Jimmy Fallon where he's the roommate of the guy with his own web show. And have seen him in other skits (this one where Will Ferrel wore only a flag) that were cool. He pretty subtle and funny in that one.
Whoever they get, it would be cool if Foggy was played by a comedian.
