USA
-Besides lending his voice to the character Sid in the computer animated flick "Ice Age", actor John Leguizamo ("Moulin Rouge") has two other big projects coming up, including a role in Arnold Schwarzenegger`s latest action flick "Collateral Damage", and a part in the movie "Spun", the debut feature of director Jonas Ã…kerlund, a veteran of many music videos, including Madonna`s "Ray of Light" and U2`s "Beautiful Day".
"Spun" has an interesting tagline: "the ultimate speed freak's tale". The movie is centered on three days and nights in the life of Will de los Santos, who is also one of the writers. Ã…kerlund has signed quite a cast as well, with Brittany Murphy, Mickey Rourke, Mena Suvari, Jason Schwartzman, Patrick Fugit, Debbie Harry, Alexis Arquette, Eric Roberts, Billy Corgan and Rob Halford...

-Mexican Director Luis Mandoki ("Angel Eyes") is set to take the film "24 Hours"... (COFFIN JOE JR. NOTE: not to be confused with the Fox TV show)
...as his next project. Here`s a plot summary, straight from the IMDB page for the movie:
"Joe Hickley thinks he's got a great scheme: kidnap the child of rich parents, hold it for 24 hours, keeping the mother under his control while an accomplice gets the ransom from the father, who is on a trip. But things go very wrong when he tries this scheme on the Jennings family, in part because their daughter Abby is asthmatic, and in part because the Jennings' find out more than Hickley wants them to know."
The movie is based on the book by author Greg Iles, who is writing the script as well, adapting his own work. Kevin Bacon, Dakota Fanning, Courtney Love, Charlize Theron and Stuart Townsend star in this action/thriller which should come out in the second semester of 2002.
