Don't put much faith into this one, till it's been confirmed more concretely. One of my sources told me there have been talks, but that they hadn't heard the deal was signed. I'm not even sure what company has the rights anymore, because ORION is who produced the first one. Anyway, surely Sir Hopkins wouldn't sign unless there is a script. Has Ted Tally written one? Not that I've heard. Surely he'd wait for Jonathon Demme, is this Demme's next project? Lots of issues get brought up with this one. Personally I have loved both Hannibal Lecter films, MANHUNTER and SILENCE OF THE LAMBS... I am dying to see another...
I have felt guilty about not being able to contribute to your site, until now. I heard on the radio this morning (Heart 106.2 in London, UK), that Anthony Hopkins has agreed to do a sequel to Silence of the Lambs! I remember when they were talking about doing a sequel just after the first movie, Hopkins was doing some kind of tour, and these kids, like 10-12 year olds, came up to him and said they thought Silence of the Lambs was really cool. Hopkins was not impressed, he didn't like the idea of children watching such an adult orientated movie. Anyway, no word if Jodie Foster is in talks, or anything. I don't know where they get there news from, but my bet is that you have already got it. If you use this call me Roger Melly, the man on the Telly.
