Ok folks, the fella below talks about a sequence in ANTZ that appeared quite intense. Believe you me, this film has been made for us adults, if kids happen to like it, then that's merely cream in the coffee of profitability for DREAMWORKS. The script is brilliantly written for an intelligent audience, and the battle scene is horrific. At Dreamworks it was being pitched as an insect version of SPARTACUS starring Woody Allen. The war is far more graphically described in the script than the battles in SPARTACUS. God I can't wait for this movie.
BTW is it just me or do all of you just wish people would shut up about how graphic the violence is in SAVING PRIVATE RYAN. It's friggin Normandy people, what the hell did ya want, a happy warm fuzzy Normandy invasion? A film that glorifies war as a noble sacrifice that every generation should endure? I hope people get sick during those sequences, because it would be one hell of a screwed up world if we all looked at the Normandy sequences and thought... COOL. I'm dying to see this film. It can't come soon enough for me.
Recently got back from Pacific Data Image, where I saw a brief clip from Antz. It was an awesome battle sequence between the ant army and the termites, who are, apparently, their mortal enemies. This stuff is truly amazing looking and goes way beyond Pixars computer generated animation for "Toy Story". I asked the person showing me the stuff if they thought this film was going to get a G- rating and they said it'd be PG, if not PG-13!!!! This definitely doesn't look like a film for the little kiddies. If you post this stuff just call me "Squanto"
