Seems like Spielberg is moving forward on his MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA project. So it looks like whatever dreams of an Indiana Jones flick will have to be put on hold until after MoaG is finished up, which would most likely mean, next summer. That's if... IF they can come up with a script. Why Speilberg and crew doesn't just buy the rights to a great Doc Savage story by Kenneth Robeson and go with that, I don't know. Or heck, make it more Harryhausen like... sigh... I'm just impatient. I love Indy as a character and can't wait to see him again. Keep your fingers crossed and think happy thoughts folks, that and some pixie dust should make their next script fly...
I report to you from Sunny Los Angeles with news of Memoirs of a Geisha. Local Japanese American Cultural Centers have discreetly received notices about Tryouts for parts in "Geisha." A friend of mine actually came to one of the tryouts and I will divulge more info as I gather. They were held in LA with some Spielberg execs checking out 1st and 2nd Gen Japanese Americans. Simple interviews and resumes were exchanged, the details of which I hope to gain within the next week. Well, call me Zatoichi for now :)
