Hey folks, Harry here with a brief tidbit from Jimmy Glick, who had the opportunity to chat briefly with God of the Blade, Nick Gillard last night. Nothing much here we didn't know... but tis still cool. I think...
Hey Harry,
Just thought you might be interested in this nugget about the next Star Wars:
I interviewed Nick Gillard last night, who you might know as the Stunt Co-ordinator on Episode II (as well as The Phantom Menace).
I told him that the best bit about The Phantom Menace was the lightsabre duel at the end and then asked what we can expect that's even better this time around. He confirmed that rather than just a duel, there are a hundred Jedis all fighting at the same time (which I don't know whether you already knew?) and then I said who was fighting who - and he sort of fumbled his answer (which means what, I don't know).
And don't worry, Hayden Christensen more than lives up to his character: Gillard said that by the end of the shoot, he fought some professional swordsman and apparently, Christensen came out on top?! (which bodes well for the fight scenes).
Anyway, hope this is of some use - if any of your readers want to check out exactly what he said, it should be on The Movie Chart Show on Channel Five in the United Kingdom, next Wednesday 30th January, at 7p.m.
Yours, Jiminy Glick
