Harry here, I've chatted with a couple of folks I know that have claimed that the following hate crimes are indeed being committed to SHAOLIN SOCCER. Folks, this sort of treatment must come to an end. Miramax's ongoing destruction of classic Hong Kong cinema must be stopped. Used to, they changed the scores because "they were improving the sound quality of the film"... Well with a film like SHAOLIN SOCCER this is total bullshit. You can go to DDDhouse.Com or on EBAY and buy an all region DVD that is mastered in DTS and DOLBY DIGITAL and will kick the living shit out of your sound system. Also, there is absolutely nothing that should be editted from SHAOLIN SOCCER, the film is far better than any film that Miramax created last year, only the films they picked up at festivals and from independent production even begin to rival its brilliance. We will continue to research this claim... Hopefully we'll learn that it was a temporary plan that was abandoned and leaked down to lower ranked Miramax types, who have yet to hear that Miramax in the spirit of Artistic Integrity will release SHAOLIN SOCCER as SHAOLIN SOCCER, untouched save for English Subtitles. OTHERWISE... BUY IT ONLINE!

"Hope this is not true, but we have heard that the now classic Stephen Chow movie, Shaolin Soccer, retiteled by Miramax Kung Fu Soccer will be cut for his North American release. Apparently that the movie have lost more than 20 mins, to make the running time about 1H30, also the beautiful music has also been replaced by rap music, and finally we have lost the original Cantonese audio track replaced by a stupid English dub. We really hope that this news is false! But so far we don't have any confirmation if it is true or not."
Please get this confirmed, and if it's true... kill them. God damn idiots don't realize that the movie can't stand on just the special effects. How could they even think of messing with the perfect acting or the score that makes you want to fuck soccer balls?! There's abosolutely NOTHING that needs to be cut here. Comedy is too dangerous to mess with.
I've always been a little pissed with Miramax for screwing with my Hong Kong movies. But I swear, if they touch one thing on Shaolin Soccer... I'll stuff my own shit into my mouth and give everyone involved some tongue action.
