Hey folks, Harry here... Sundance is over and here's the official winners and Memento Man's list of his picks for the best of what he saw of the festival. Different titles between the two lists... But then, ain't it always. Here ya go
``Personal Velocity,'' won the grand jury prize, the top dramatic honor at the Sundance Film Festival. PERSONAL VELOCITY also earned the dramatic cinematography award for Ellen Kuras.
Sundance jurors gave the documentary grand jury prize to ``Daughter From Danang.''
``Real Women Have Curves,'' received the audience award for dramatic films and also received a special jury prize for America Ferrera.
The documentary audience award & the Freedom Of Expression Award went to ``Amandla! A Revolution in Four Part Harmony.''
Gary Winick earned the dramatic directing honor for ``Tadpole.'
Rob Fruchtman and Rebecca Cammisa won the documentary directing award for ``Sister Helen.''
Sundance jurors gave a special prize for originality to the drama ``Secretary.''
Receiving a special jury prize for its ensemble cast was ``Manito.''
Gordy Hoffman won the Waldo Salt screenwriting award for ``Love Liza.''
— The world cinema award was shared by ``Bloody Sunday,'' and ``The Last Kiss.''
— ``The Trespasser,'' won the Latin American cinema award.
— Special jury prizes went to the documentaries ``Seniorita Extraviada,'' and ``How to Draw a Bunny.''
— Daniel B. Gold won the documentary cinematography prize for ``Blue Vinyl.''
— The grand jury prize for short films went to ``Gasline,'' directed by
Dave Silver. Honorable mentions for short films were
given to ``Bus 44,'' ``Drowning Lessons,'' ``Morning Breath,'' ``No Dumb
Questions,'' ``The Parlor'' and ``Stuck.'
