We just got the news here at Nicktoons. The pants have been pulled. The piggie has crashed and burned. Nickelodeon has officially scaled back their plans for Invader ZIM from 20 new episodes in our second season to a mere six.
Big Brother Nick cites poor ratings -- and I don't want to get into a long and painful discussion over the many and complicated factors that go into these decisions. But suffice to say for the moment Operation Impending Doom II is dead in the water.
I suppose the good news for the loyal ZIM folk out there is that there still will be 16 new half-hours coming down the line starting in March. The faithful have many, many fine episodes to look forward to in the weeks ahead. And if we're lucky we'll even get to squeeze out a Christmas special.

I'll keep you up to date with more info as it becomes available.
Agent Darkbooite out.
Ain't that a kick in the face? Especially considering how incredibly unwatchable the rest of Nickelodeon's lineup is? What a shame. Maybe Cartoon Network will have the brains to pick up Zim and give it a decent time slot. We can hope.
