Ratner talks about RUSH HOUR 3 and RED DRAGON!!!

Harry here... Seems like the ol Double Whammy found some tidbits from an interview with Brett Ratner that appeared over on About.Com where we hear a bit about how he plans to make Lecter look over a decade younger. Plus he comments on RUSH HOUR 3... Enjoy...

While promoting his Rush Hour 2 DvD on www.about.com, director Brett Ratner spoke about his upcoming projects:

RED DRAGON

Ratner on the truth to the rumor about effects crews using CgI to de-age Anthony Hopkins: "Possibly. He [Anthony] has lost twenty pounds, so he's in the shape he was in when he filmed SILENCE. We'll mostly be using lighting effects to make him look younger." Ratner also said that the same cell was being used from SILENCE. He'll be making the film in the vein of Alfred Hitchcock, where less is more. Unlike HANNIBAL, there "won't be a lot of gore" in RED DRAGON.

RUSH HOUR 3

Ratner was also asked if Rush Hour 3 would be his next film after Red Dragon. Ratner's response was, "I hope so. It'll start in New York and it'll go, I don't know, wherever we come up with." The next obvious question that was raised was, how many more Rush Hours are left in him and he said, "10." When asked if he was serious or sarcastic, Ratner replied: "Yeah, why not? I created it. Steven Spielberg will do four Indiana Joneses. Why not?"

On another note, there are rumors abound that RUSH HOUR 3 will take place in Africa, Egypt or London.

WHAM! WHAM!--Double Whammy
