Stephen Norrington getting set to shoot Alan Moore's LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN'!'!'!

Hey folks, Harry here. For better on 7 months now I've been hearing whispers about Stephen Norrington and LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN, but I could never get Norrington to fess up to it. I mean, the guy's development slate is one of the busiest and hardest to tack down slates in the biz.

Next to no one has seen his second film THE LAST MINUTE (though I've been dying to for quite some time). He was furiously working with David Goyer on GHOST RIDER, but when Nick Cage walked away, apparently so did the financing for the film, but rumor has it that Dimension and Avi Arad at Marvel have been looking to attach a director quickly, because the script is red hot! I've read it, it is great. Now, he editted and did all his post on THE LAST MINUTE at LIGHTSTORM, James Cameron's tower of power, and he's been developing BROTHER TERMITE there for about a stone age now. He was also associated with SHANG CHI, Master of the Martial Arts, but that doesn't have a script yet. Then over at Dreamworks, Michael DeLuca's first acquisition as a project that we've heard about was HAMMER OF GOD, an epic historical fantasy martial arts film that Norrington was attached to direct, I believe that the script is still being forged ahead with that.

Then there was TICK TOCK, the sacrificial lamb project that died with the passing of September 11th. The film was all set to start shooting with Jennifer Lopez and Sam Jackson. But no more, it has been being radically reworked (or so the story goes)

Now we have LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN. Variety confirmed Norrington's desire and negotiations with the project, and claim that they have sources that want the project to start shooting this coming April / March. Which kinda makes me wonder how long they've been at work on Pre-Production, because if you're familiar with the book, you know that there is A LOT OF PRE-PRODUCTION and tons of prep work.

What would be cool is if the Prague set of FROM HELL was still standing, as that would offset a certain amount of rebuilding Victorian England. To learn more about the project, CLICK HERE!!! This could be a hellicool flick if done right!!!
