Has the last stumbling block been removed that was halting movement on the fourth Indiana Jones film? Have all the 'script problems' merely been a ruse to play the waiting game so that Lucas and Spielberg could take the Franchise elsewhere? Will an Indy movie be an Indy movie if it doesn't start with the Paramount Logo? Won't that screw up gigantic BOX SET issues in regards to the DVD releases? Inquiring minds like mine wanna know. I have just received some new info that will answer some questions to the Indy/Paramount contract situation. Here's an updated version of the news message:
As we reported earlier that the unknown future of Indiana Jones 4 has been under control by Paramount Studios for the past several years. In an interview to Starlog and Empire Magazine Spielberg said "he and Lucas are having problems with Paramount in getting the fourth Indiana Jones installment launched." It may be that those problems are finally coming to an end.
According to our reliable tipster who has send us accurate information in the past reveals that the 20 year, dated Nov 81,Indiana Jones sequel rights contract with Paramount Pictures has just expired. What does that mean? Lucas can take it wherever he wants, whenever he wants. Maybe DreamWorks fits into the picture. The video rights to the first three movies still remain with Paramount, unless George wants to buy them back With no contract in place, there will be no movement on anything, except possibly DVDs.
