So that's how it looked this year. Personally I thought it was great to see Amélie pick up 4 awards. It's an amazing film and I hope it will pick up at least one Oscar (Foreign language film) come March. But it would be superb if Miramax could do the same with it as they did with Life is Beautiful. Jean-Pierre Jeunet nominated for best director is what I hope for! I also liked the fact that Ben Kinglsey was a surprise best actor winner for Sexy Beast. Check that movie out if you haven't done it yet. I would also praise the Screen International winner Moulin Rouge. Another amazing film. I would have to say that the highlight of the night was when Terry Gilliam and Terry Jones received the Lifetime Achievment Award and started fighting Mel Smith for the award because he wouldn't allow them to have it because all the Python boys weren't there! But Gilliam wrestled the award from Smith and ran to his seat... A nice night with lots of fun and the right winners. I guess that's how an award show should be.
Take care Harry and keep up the good work.
Michael from Denmark
