Ok geeks, I need help, and only those in the Calgary area can help me. It was brought to my attention earlier this day that I would be going to the infamous hotel that Kubrick shot THE SHINING at, that I would be traveling the same roads, seeing the same sights, etc. I am overwhelmed with geekness right now. I have just spent the last 6 hours scouring every square inch of Austin in search for the CD soundtrack to THE SHINING. To listen to that music while traversing the Canadian Rockies all the way up to that haunted chateaux... well, it would be an act of geek glory. Place after place, we were beaten. Used stores, new stores, places with gigantic selections. Places that should of had it. All to no avail. Paul, my father and I searched hi and lo, and no cd.
Next we went to Captain Video's house. He has tens of thousands of soundtracks on cd, vinyl, cassette. He had it on vinyl, which doesn't play on my cd player. Defeated I turn to you Canadian geeks. Y'all are my last hope, my only prayer for having the music play into my ears as I follow in the asphalt of Nicholson. This is Paul's idea. I'm gonna do something against my better judgement, but I'm gonna give out my flight number that I arrive in Calgary on. IF you can find that CD, not only will I reimburse you, but you will also get one of my AICN t-shirts and I'll do whatever you want with it. Kinkier the better.
Yes, this is pathetic. Yes I am a geek, but damn it, this is what being a geek is about. What a glorius opportunity I have.
