Sundance Film Festival Announces Their Line Up For 2002!!! Call For More Information!

Hey folks, Harry here with the line up for Sundance Film Festival 2002. I have tidbits and comments on the few that I could find out about. Any and all help will be appreciated. To the filmmakers, publicists and friends of these films... AICN very much wants to help bring as much attention to the deserving projects that are trying to break out at Sundance this year and every year. If you want to talk with me about it, arranging screeners, screenings, scripts, interviews.... WHATEVER, drop me an email at harry@aintitcool.com! Hopefully we'll have a stronger Sundance than in recent years. As for Moriarty and Robie going... Robie is knee deep in top secret activities, as for the old man... depends if he can handle the thin air... he's not used to being that high... well altitude wise that is.

WORLD TRAVELER directed by Bart Freundlich

AMERICAN SPECTRUM

BLUE CAR directed by Karen Moncrieff
Troubled young woman is inspired by a teacher to enter a poetry contest. Stars David Strathairn

THE BUSINESS OF FANCYDANCING directed by Sherman Alexie
This is my number one pick for want to see now! Sherman Alexie wrote and co-produced SMOKE SIGNALS, which was an astonishing work which Miramax shafted in favor of the far lessor film, LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL. This time Sherman is producing and again we will see the actor who beautifully created one of my most favorite film characters with Thomas Builds-The-Fire.... I'm talking about Evan Adams. Yippee! Desperately want to hear everything about this project!

BY HOOK OR BY CROOK directed by Silas Howard & Harriet Dodge
It won the Audience Award for Best Narrative Film at L.A.'s Outfest along with the Grand Jury Award for Outstanding Screenwriting. Add to that the fact that Joan Jett is in it. Well, it is a crime flick about a Butch woman hooking up with another lady and crime following. We'll see how it plays out, but films that win Audience Awards tend to be at the least... quite watchable.

DESIGN directed by Davidson Cole
Apparently about the futility in trying to control one's own life. Not familiar with any of the actors in this one. We'll see.

DEVIL’S PLAYGROUND directed by Lucy Walker
Documentary about Amish teenagers deciding whether or not to remain Amish or move out into the world of... all us sinners.

THE JIMMY SHOW directed by Frank Whaley
Based on a play of the same name about a failed New Jersey inventor that embarks on a career as a standup comic, turns to drink, and labors to keep his family together. Has Ethan Hawke and Carla Gugino

NOON BLUE APPLES directed by Jay Lee
Features George Takei.... MR SULU!!!! Involves a gal doing research on phobias which takes her into a swirling world of conspiracy theories and realities.

ON_LINE directed by Jed Weintrob
Co-Producer of PUMPKINHEAD 2 decides to direct a flick about the oh so hot and sexy, me love you long time, world of Cybersex!!!

RAIN directed by Katherine Lindberg
A tragic tale of sex, murder and redemption written deep within the soil of America's heartland, RAIN is a story of forbidden passion and buried sexuality played out against the backdrop of a town where the only place to go crazy is inside. Film played at Venice with very little buzz being heard back here. That doesn't mean anything though. It could have been buried. Diane Ladd and nice cast of faces you'd know when you see them.

STOLEN SUMMER directed by Pete Jones
This is that lucky bastard's flick that won that Matt Damon and Ben Affleck PROJECT GREENLIGHT contest... and has his film already picked up for a March debut. Nice cast, it was the winner out of a bazillion scripts... maybe there is something to it.

THAT’S MY FACE directed by Thomas Allen Harris -
Documentary about self discovery...
