Below you will find yet again more 'rumors' of the Peter Jackson 'LORD OF THE RINGS' project. Yes, that is the subject, not The Hobbit. Trust me on that. I have talked to a couple of Miramax types about the project and all they would say is ".............................." Silence, utter silence, which was of course speaking volumes of untold tenseness. Hopefully, I can corner someone on this soon enough, but as of now... they are staying as tight as a... ahhh hell, I ain't gonna go all hick on ya... shucks... Anyway here's a few bits. Right now I think the biggest problem with the titles not being straight is that most people (not us Tolkein fans, but most people) tend to think in terms of the title THE HOBBIT. But THE HOBBIT would be being made at MGM if anywhere, and this involves Miramax which has a deal for LORD OF THE RINGS, no matter what they say on the records. Hey BOB... HARVE!!!! Announce this baby!!! Sheesh!!
I e-mailed you a couple of weeks ago with news on Jackson's next film. Well I finally got THE WORD!!! It will be "The Hobbit". I was talking to person who was (deleted) for a TV ad. This person has worked on many high profile 'down under' projects. Jackson has asked the person to do The Hobbit, filming may start as early as August - September. Shooting will go for over a year. All the main characters, except one, will be wearing prosthetic masks (I suppose that aint no big suprise). Still no green light from the suits in Hollywood. The person didn't seem that interested in the story, so the person may have mistakenly told me it was The Hobbit, when the person really meant Lord of the Rings. And also it seemed that the person wasn't aware of the secrecy concerning the project. Now I know that you don't know me from a bar of soap, and I could be telling you load of shit, but let me just say that The Hobbit is my all time FAVORITE book, and I've been trying to get real info on it through my small associtation with the industry. PLEASE believe me. If your gonna post this, please leave out the info on my source.
