No spoilers, but this does come from a spy that has been reliable in the past, from Agent Pooh Bear. He says no focus problems, but that Jake Lloyd is 'really bad.' Please don't be true!!!!! Anyway, here's what he said, and as with all things Prequels... Wink nudge nudge uh huh yeah Right...
Harry, I was out with some friends tonight who happen to be part of Lucas's Empire. We were discussing the supposed problem with the prequels. They laughed. They have seen the movie. It looked fine to them. The acting of the Anakin Skywalker kid was really bad, but no focus problem. What Lucas is probably doing is some reshoots. Apparently, he has worked out new shots by cutting and pasting different video on top of each other to create kinda a video storyboards.
Also, don't forget, ILM is VERY, VERY hard at work on final shots ( described to me as "seamless...perfect" Those require film plates ( it has to do with some rather technical issues involving grain matching, film rack, etc, that requires the actual film, not video )
