Hey folks, Harry here.... Now I happened to have a lot of fun with SHAFT... didn't care too much for BABY BOY, but I just don't know if I ever need to see another Sinbad movie. The three that Harryhausen put together are faves of mine, especially 7TH VOYAGE OF SINBAD and GOLDEN VOYAGE OF SINBAD.... EYE OF THE TIGER... well it has Patrick Wayne problems that I won't really go into... but one of the key problems I would see in doing a new SINBAD series is the desire to 'harden' the series and to make it 'historically accurate'. These are things that would most likely piss me off endlessly. The Sinbad films were perfect in a fantastical way... Simple, uncomplicated straight forward narratives. Adventure tales with Good and Evil. Ultimately they were stories that told how man had a part to play amongst the wonders of Gods, Demons, Devils and Monsters.
Hey Hares...
Joey Baloney , our newsman, got to interview director John Singleton today, and he was suprised to find that:
"I'm gonna bring back the whole SINBAD series for Columbia...yeah, we're gonna do a whole new series of SINBAD films." So when can we expect these films?? "I'm thinking about doing them next, it depends. I might do another smaller movie with Tyrese (from BABY BOY) first..."
