Hey everybody, Harry here. Just a note. For the last month or so the amount of information that's been being posted has been slowing. Some of you have been speculating as to why this has happened. "Harry's burning out, Harry is no longer cool, Harry doesn't give a sh*t, Now that Harry's famous he's gonna forget about all of us, etc etc" Well this ain't really right. Let me explain...
I've been doing this site for about a year and a half, in the first half of this year I was updating everyday, multiple times a day, and almost with out fail. (excluding a computer malfunction) It was a 7 day a week operation. It was ritualistic. Well, then comes the last two months. I am hardly updating as much as I once did, though I'm getting the same amounts of email. Why is this?
Frankly when people attribute the "outside" concerns of the site, they are dead on the money. Typically my days have about 3 hours - 6 hours of interviews, from newspapers, radio shows, television, magazines, ya know... just about everyone. I have felt compelled to continually "prostitute my time and energy into these areas."
Now I have always taken time for my films (I see 300 a year, at least), film festivals and a moderate personal life and finally my site. Never before had I expected to do "publicity" and that sort of thing, but currently I find myself in the middle of a vast media feeding frenzy. Where sometimes weeks are planned weeks in advance. Quite frankly I'm getting tired of the interviews. They have been becoming people asking the same ol questions. So, I'm going to try my damnedest to designate MONDAY as Press Day here at AICN. Just pile them on that one day. That way it frees me to have my time and energy back to do what I love, and you love the best... Ain't It Cool News. The info is here, hell I'm looking at 2 dozen unread scripts to upcoming films right now including IRON GIANT, LIST OF SEVEN and the current draft of the upcoming Jackie Chan flick RUSH HOUR (not the out of date and radically changed version that resides at Drew's Script-A-Rama).

My new goal is to write at least 3000 words a day 6 days a week about cool news about the items you are dying to hear about. Which include all genres of film, all budget scales of film, and basically film in general.
This is what I call my mission statement. I'm tired of being less that what I am capable of, and can admit to a bit of slacking due to energy loss. Cool news is coming.
From Now till next Thursday I am at the Film Festival, but after that, I have no commitments at all (that I remember) I will try to update the news page in that time, but I will also be reviewing the films and the word from the fest.
