Hey, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab.
Okay... so I got about three dozen panicked e-mails that all read about like this one from long-time contributor Otto Maddox:
Hi AICN,
OttoMaddox here again. You know, I don't know if anyone looked at the Internet Movie Database news, but they're reporting that we may never see the Tom Clancy movie THE SUM OF ALL FEARS on the big screen, since there are scenes that just seem a little too disturbing after the events of September 11. I have to say, I'd agree with their decision if we never saw it in theaters, particularly when considering that the movie contains a scene featuring a terrorist attack on a football stadium. It doesn't feel right at all. It should be released, eventually, just not when we're in the midst of a war.
Anyway, here's the link:
Too bad, especially considering that it came from Phil Alden Robinson, the helmer of FIELD OF DREAMS and the cool-as-hell SNEAKERS.

I’ve seen this story in a number of other places, too. Too bad it’s completely false. The Canadian journalist who started the ball rolling took an off-the-cuff comment from someone who was decidedly NOT connected to the film and turned it into a major story that’s been picked up by places like THE NEW YORK POST.
Not only have I spoken to sources at Paramount about this, but I’ve spoken to someone close to Mace Neufeld, the film’s producer. It’s not true. Not a word of it. Right now, the film is still set for release in the summer of 2002, with an eye on August. If there is a change in schedule, it wouldn’t be decided until after the first of the year.
There are a lot of asinine overreactions *coughredubbingETdialoguecough* happening in Hollywood right now.
This isn’t one of them.
"Moriarty" out.
