Hey folks, Harry here.... and a new Sammo Hung movie is well something to line up for! Sammo may very well be my favorite of the Hong Kong folks, simply because watching a gordo kick so much ass and be as amazingly graceful as he is... well it's like watching a lethal Fatty Arbuckle. Earlier this year as I watched EASTERN CONDORS on the Alamo Drafthouse screen... My heart soared. That end fight in the weapons bunker was simply breathtaking... So Sammo, get this film here soon! I can't wait! Thanks Ye!
Hi, Harry
Long time no see but Ye is back.
This time I bring you some goodies from Sammo Hung's FLYING DRAGON, LEAPING TIGER. This is an old fashion kung-fu flick staring Sammo Hung and Cheng Pei-pei, played Jade Fox in CROUCHING TIGERN, HIDDEN DRAGON. Yes, it is wired a little bit but no CGs, I think. Die-hard kung-fu fanatic will not be disappointed and Sammo fan will see the good old Sammo is back. Although shot right after the release of CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAON, carrying a similar name and also has desert fighting scenes, it is not a Crouching Tiger sequel. So far it is only released in Mainland China and no word has been given on release schedule on other regions.
The story is: at the turn of Ming and Qing Dynasties
(mid-17th Century), on the thousands year old Silk
Road, bandit Lu Zheng Yang, for the loyalty to his
sworn brother Qiao Xiong, missed the birth of his own
son. Qiao Xiong paid back Lu Zheng Yang's loyalty only
by betraying him and Lu's wife Liu Ru Yan had run away
along with his son. Since then, they had become "The
Three Masters" on the Silk Road. Twenty years later,
the next generation had grown up and more bloodshed
was waiting for them Here is something about the ending:
Warning: you don't have to know it!
In the original plot, Sammo‚s character is supposed to
die in the end. But the audiences got upset by such
arrangement during a screen test somewhere in America.
The studios had decided to wake up the dead. They went
back to China and re-shot the ending. Unbelievable!!!
Warning ends.
