Well, just figured I'd throw this up here. I'm pretty sure most of it is real, but with the key titles... Indy 4, Lion of Oz, etc as being edgy as hell. More than anything this is up to see if any of you know anything more on these projects. Yes, I am aware of the Variety article on Leonardo and American Psycho, thank you.
The following stuff is all odds and ends info that I have been collecting over the past several weeks so here goes...
"The Lion of Oz and the Badge of Courage"
one of the Wizard of Oz stories by L.Frank Baum and Roger S. Baum. Due out for an early 2000 release.
"Indiana Jones 4"
The past few working titles have been "Indiana Jones and the Garden of Life", "Raiders of the Fallen Empire", and now the one that they will probably stick with "Indiana Jones and the Lost Continent", Paramount and Dreamworks SKG will be co-funding this number like they did for "Deep Impact" to help save on the expenses of the large budget. The Area 51 story has been dropped in favor of the new one that follows the lines of the lost city of Atlantis. Due out for a summer 2000 release. It was written by Jeffrey Boam who also has written "The Phantom"(1996), "Lethal Weapon 2 and 3", "The Lost boys",and "indiana Jones and the Last Crusade". George Lucas is executive producer and Rick McCallum is a producer as well. Music will be by the god of music Mr. John Williams. Spielberg will be directing as long as Harrison Ford decides that it is a good script.
"2001: A Space Travesty" will be Leslie Nielsons last movie of the century bearing a 1999 fall release date. (obviously a spoof) (HARRY NOTE: OH SWEET JESUS NO!!!!)
"American Psycho"
This will be Leonardo DiCaprio's first movie after "Titanic" buzz so it will have a huge first weekend only because of that. Danny Elfman will be doing the music for the movie.(perfect choice if you ask me) Willem DeFoe, and Jared Leto co-star.
"Gilligan's Island"
It is currently in the casting phase and we should know more later, but for right now we only know two casting choices that are a definite- Jamie Kennedy is Willy Gilligan, and Brian Dennehy is Jonas Grumby. Expect a fall 1999 release.
"Highlander 4: The Search for Conner"
Christopher Labert is returning to play Conner MacLeod, and Adrian Paul will be his T.V. persona of Duncan MacLeod. It was written by Eric Bernt ("Virtuosity"), and Gregory Widen ("Highlander", "The Prophecy" and "Backdraft") Probably a fall 1999 release as well.
"Die Hard 4"
A.K.A- "Tears in the Sun", Die Hard:Tears in the Sun", "Ignition", and "Die Hard:Ignition". They still haven't made up their minds yet. Of course Bruce Willis won't pass this up, and just for added fun they are going to bring back everyones favorite doughnut cannibalist, Sgt. Al Powell, from the original Die Hard. That will, of course, be played by Reginal VelJohnson. It was written by Ronald Bass ("My Best Friends Wedding", "Dangerous Minds", and "Rain Man"), and Chris Gerolmo("Mississippi Burning").
This is the just announced section of our tour.
"Jumanji 2"
Written by Adam Rifkin, who penned "Mousehunt", and the forthcoming"Small Soldiers".
"Mortal Kombat 3"
"WHY"!? The second was the worst piece of film I' have ever seen...again"WHY"!? No other info. yet.
"War of the Roses: The Children"
Nothing further except it was written by the writer of the first, Warren Adler.
And finally we come across...
"The Nutty Professor 2"
Well, folks, Looks like Buddy Love is back in town! Steve Odekerk, who wrote and directed "Ace Ventura 2" and "Nothing to Loose", will be doing the same for this as well. Eddie is back , and principal photography will begin this August.
I have so much more for you Harry, but I have to travel back to wonderland to get the notes, see ya later!
