Hey folks, Harry here... Variety announced that Jennifer Esposito has joined Dana Carvey in a film called MASTER OF DISGUISE.
Basic Plotline is kind of a spy kids thing... Dana Carvey's family is from a long line of Masters of Disguise... When all hell breaks loose he must learn the family trade in order to save them all.
Now the screenplay is by Harris Goldberg (writer of DEUCE BIGELOW and the now classic I'LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS!!!!) and some fella named Drew Carey. Ahem...
Now against my better judgement, I'm going to go out on a limb and guestimate that this is finally going to give Dana a clean slate... Um, I mean a new start as a leading character in a feature film. CLEAN SLATE bombed like, well parallels are inappropriate right now, but it didn't do too well ok? Now this has been frustrating because personally, I think Dana is my favorite member of Saturday Night Live after the show began sucking so bad. (BTW... This is where Moriarty Punches Me Repeatedly) But frankly I didn't care much for Carvey's years... Wasn't an Opera Man fan, didn't really care too much for Wayne and Garth, though I did adopt a whole set of catch phrases... just cuz they wuz fun to say... But I did love Dana in his various wacky impersonations and disguise routines.
There is a chance that Dana has been taking his time with Hollywood... slowly flipping through scripts hoping for the right one... looking to get on firm ground. To find a series with the potential to go nuts like Myers has with AUSTIN POWERS.
Is this it? Will Dana finally be a silver screen badass, or is he doomed to be trapped in Hercules' columns for eternity? We'll have to wait and see
