Hey, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab.
I've been in touch with Andrew from Gray Haven Magazine.com a number of times over the last week. He's from New York, and through him, I was able to find out good news about an old friend of mine at Marvel. Our thoughts here at AICN are with Andrew and everyone at Marvel, and this is just another example of an unlikely outpouring of affection, an honest and unsolicited expression of the pain and the pride in fellow Americans and the horror of last week's events.
Marvel Comics recently announced plans to publish a special benefit comic which would be used to raise money for the American Red Cross and Police and Firefighters for victims of the tragedy of 9.11.01.
Here’s what we know so far about ‘Heroes’:
The special project will be 64-pages, in full-color, magazine-sized, and will cost $3.50. It will be on sale Oct. 17th. Retailers will get more info on it in the Sept. 26th Diamond Dateline. It will also appear on the Diamond order form that lists comics on sale in December.
The book will feature different creators illustrating and writing about the events of 9.11.01. While many may focus on the ‘true’ heroes of the world like the firefighters and police officers, don’t be surprised if you see a familiar costumed hero or two.
More names will be added to the list of contributors, but here's who has stepped up to the plate so far...
