Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese Team Up to Take On The H. H. Holmes Story For Hulu

It looks like Leo and Martin and back in action. Deadline says that this time they are taking on the adaption of The Devil In The White City, a novel based on one of the OGs of modern serial killers, H. H. Holmes.

It has recently been reported that Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio are developing the Hulu series at digital platform Paramount TV.

The adaption of the novel will tell the story of architect Daniel Burnham who worked alongside young pharmacist/doctor Henry H. Holmes. As Daniel works on putting together the 1893 World Fair, Dr. Holmes fools unsuspecting victims into visiting his castle next doors… AHEM… his “Murder Castle” which he designed for ultimate precision for the act of murdering random strangers.

Leonardo DiCaprio purchased the film rights to the book in 2010, as he and Scorsese have long been attached to the prospect of a feature film adaption to the H. H. Holmes story. But recent reports confirm they are taking on the roles of executive producer for the series adaption being developed for Hulu.

One of the more recent adaptions of the legendary serial killer came from season 5 of American Horror Story “Hotel,’ in which Evan Peters plays James Patrick March (not so loosely based on Holmes). If that excellent portrayal serves as an appetizer for the upcoming series, then we are in for a real treat (albeit a sick and depraved one). With DiCaprio and Scorsese’s track record for classic output, it should be one to die for.
